A collective of international artists are working with green fingered Cardiff residents this month to create a beautifully designed edible landscape. The Trans-Plantable Living Room will be planted, potted and pruned in a series of free community workshops run by gardening experts, set designers and theatre makers.
The workshops will be fascinating fun for all ages and the team will work with the community to design and build The Trans-Plantable Living Room from recycled household items and an array of edible plants. They’ll also explore, through performance and story telling, what growing and gardening mean to us now.
In September The Trans-Plantable Living Room will be part of the World Stage Design 2013 Conference at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and will host a new performance, devised by Plantable Performance, that brings to life the stories unearthed along the way and looks at our relationship to our ever changing environment.
